This is the only internationally recognised entry level qualification for SCUBA diving, and your passport to fun, adventure and excitement. The P.A.D.I. P.A.D.I. Advanced Open Water
This qualification takes you deeper into diving, as well as further diver educational courses. It offers you training in exclusive fields of diving, all under the direct supervision of an Instructor. The courses opens up the whole range of diving to the student and enables them to experience new and exciting environments. The course comprises of 3 core dives (Navigation, Deep and Night) and 2 electives dives, which the student can choose from the vast range of specialities. Each dive is covered in the manual and is backed up by an in depth explanation from the Instructor. P.A.D.I. Advanced Plus Open Water
This is a substantially extended version of the Advanced course and encompasses more diving in specialised fields as well as additional theoretical knowledge. As in the Advanced course, self study is backed up by in depth explanations from the Instructor. On each of the dives, the student has tasks assigned, which must be completed. The course shares the same three core dives as the Advanced but the student has 6 elective dives to complete all in different fields. The course also includes the Medic First Aid course which means that you also receive a certification in First Aid (which is not diving specific). P.A.D.I. Rescue Diver
This course enhances the divers accident prevention and response skills. It teaches the student extensive rescue techniques for dealing with emergencies above and below the water, it also covers self-rescue techniques making the student a more self reliant diver. P.A.D.I. Divemaster
This is the first professional qualification that is offered in the P.A.D.I. scheme. This highly respected qualification is recognised all over the world and is the first step towards becoming an Instructor. The course teaches the student how to assist Instructors in both open and confined water teaching sessions. It also provides them with the skills needed to plan and conduct diving trips for individuals and groups. The student is require to enhance their knowledge of diving physics, physiology, diving equipment and diving environments. P.A.D.I. Assistant Instructor
The Assistant Instructor course builds on and develops the skills learnt in the Divemaster course, providing more hands-on teaching experience under the supervision of an Instructor. This is the final grooming before embarking upon the Instructor Development Course. Prior to this the student needs to refine their presentation techniques and water skills to the level of an Open Water Instructor as well as improving their knowledge to the level of a working Instructor. P.A.D.I. Speciality Courses
These courses focus on specialised areas of diving, many of these can be embarked upon straight after the Open Water Course, while others require the Advanced Open Water rating first. Most specialities courses have 2 to 4 dives with differing levels of theory. P.A.D.I. Medic First Aid
This is not specifically for diver training. Non-divers are actively encouraged to take part. It teaches first aid including CPR ( Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation), EAR (Expired Air Resuscitation), Shock and Emergency management and many other essential skills. The course is taught through a combination of multi-media presentations and hands on practise.
